When and where is the auction?

The auction took place on 30 November 2023 at the Old Course Hotel, St Andrews.

What size are the Scotties?

The large Scottie Dog measures 1472mm tall by 1776mm long and weighs approximately 40kg.

The small Scottie Dog measures 745mm tall, 900mm long and 320mm wide and weighs approximately 8kg.

What are they made from?

The Scotties are made from a mixture of class II fire retardant laminating resin and chopped roving fibreglass over an initial brushed – on layer of gel coat.

Is every sculpture unique?

Each sculpture has been individually designed and painted by our incredible artists and they are all unique one-offs, not available to buy anywhere else. They are certainly a collectors item!

Can I preview the lots in person?

All the Lots were available for preview at the Farewell Weekend from Saturday 18th November 2023 to Sunday 19th November 2023 at Younger Hall St Andrews.

Who can attend the auction?

All interested bidders aged 18+ are welcome to our auction. We hope to fill the auction room with people who are going to bid so that we can raise lots and lots of money for Maggie’s Dundee.

For families, or for people who are not able to bid but are interested in seeing the Scotties all together, we advise that our Farewell Event is more suitable.

How do I bid for a Scottie?

If you are attending the live auction event and you wish to bid in person for a Scottie, you will need to complete the Bidder Registration Form. This will be sent to you by email or you will also find it in the Important Documents section of this page. Please return your Bidder Registration Form to scottiesbythesea@bidstandrews.co.uk or bring it with you on the night along with your ID. This will make the process easier on the night and you will be allocated a paddle.

If you don’t plan to make a bid but change your mind on the night, that’s okay too! Please refer to our Guide for Bidders and Terms and Conditions for more information.

I can’t get to the auction, can I still bid?
